What happens when you come in.
We talk first
You tell us what is bothering you and how long it has been going on. Nothing you say will surprise us, and nothing about your feet will shock us.
We look at your feet
Nails, skin, circulation and the way you walk. If you have diabetes we check the blood supply and the feeling in your feet as well.
We treat what we find
Most things are sorted in the same appointment. It does not hurt, and we stop whenever you ask us to.
We tell you what we did
In plain words, along with what to do at home and whether you need to come back. If you do not need to come back, we will say so.
If getting to us is the hard part, we come to you.
We visit people at home across the DH postcodes, and we visit residential and care homes across Chester-le-Street and the villages around it.
You get the same 30 minutes, the same registered clinician and the same treatment you would get at the clinic. We bring everything with us.
Simple Pricing
There is no new patient fee, no charge for the first appointment being longer, and no separate consultation fee. You pay for the appointment and that is all.
If something you need costs more than a standard appointment, we tell you the price before we do it, not after.
Prices for individual treatments are shown on each treatment page, so you can read what is involved before you look at what it costs.
Booking for your mum or dad.
You can book on someone else's behalf, and you are welcome to come in with them and sit in on the appointment. Plenty of people do.
If you are not sure whether it is worth booking: cutting their own toenails has usually become difficult before anyone mentions it. Painful feet make people walk less, and walking less is where falls start. It is worth a look.
Anyone can call themselves a foot care worker. Not everyone is registered.
Podiatrist and chiropodist are protected titles. Only people on the Health and Care Professions Council register are allowed to use them, and staying on that register means proving your training and keeping it current. You can look up our registration number yourself on the HCPC website.
