Home visits
If getting out of the house is the hard part, we come to you.
A home visit is the same thirty-minute appointment we would give you at the clinic, in your own front room. Same registered podiatrist, same equipment, same treatment. £55 across Chester-le-Street and the villages around it.
How it works
What happens when we come to you.
01
We agree a time and ring ahead
You get a time rather than a vague window, and we ring before we set off so nobody is sitting waiting by the door. If we are running late you will hear it from us first.
02
We bring the clinic with us
Sterile instruments for every visit, the same small drill we use on thickened nails, and a proper light. You need nothing at all except a chair and somewhere to plug in.
03
We do the same appointment
A full thirty minutes. Nails cut and filed, hard skin and corns dealt with, and both feet looked over properly rather than only the one that is bothering you.
04
We say when we will next come
Most people settle into a visit every six to ten weeks, and we book it before we leave. If you do not need us that often, we will tell you that instead.
Where we come
Chester-le-Street and the villages around it.
Home visits cover the town and the surrounding villages. If you are not sure whether you are inside the area, ring and ask. If we cannot get to you we will say so plainly rather than leave you wondering.

If you are further out
Not sure if we reach you?
Ring and describe where you are. The area above is where we go regularly rather than a hard boundary, and it costs nothing to ask.

Questions
Things people ask about home visits.
Anyone for whom getting to the clinic is the difficult part. That is usually people who no longer drive, people who find steps or a car journey painful, and people who are recovering from something. You do not need to be housebound and you do not need to justify it to us.
A chair with a firm back and somewhere to plug in. That is genuinely all. There is no need to soak your feet beforehand, and please do not tidy up on our account.
Almost. Routine care, thickened nails, corns and hard skin, and the diabetic foot checks all travel perfectly well. A few things are still done at the clinic, where the lighting and the setup are right for them.
Yes, and plenty of our visits are booked that way. Tell us anything we should know when you ring. If you want to hear how the appointment went afterwards we will need their permission for that, which is usually a thirty-second conversation on the day.
Yes. It is a single-handed practice, so the person who comes to your door is the person who has your notes and remembers your feet from last time.
Still have a question?
Ask it here and we will come back to you by email, usually the same working day. If it is urgent, calling is quicker.
